Rob Rosenberger

Rob files a mea culpa

Rob Rosenberger, Vmyths co-founder
Tuesday, 1 February 2000 MEA CULPA: I conducted tests yesterday in my effort to "go pro" with this website. Unfortunately, the live portion of the website auto-updated during my tests — and a broken sponsor link appeared on the default home page. It displayed as a broken image tag with a broken link, but the ALT text tag declared itself a sponsored advertisement. It contradicted the "no paid ads" disclaimer right below it. I discovered the error this morning and I sincerely apologize for my mistake. I'll change the website's disclaimer text ahead of schedule, just in case another test/live snafu occurs in the future. The disclaimer will now say "this website is not sponsored by antivirus companies." I'll also update every page on the website to eliminate any test sponsor links I don't know about. Again, I deeply regret my error.
