Friday, 15 January 1999 Two readers objected to Rob Rosenberger's use of a Muslim fanatic in the answer to question #12. Rosenberger believes U.S. military infowar experts use "Muslim fanatics" almost exclusively in their scenarios. Cryptography experts likewise use "Bob and Alice" almost exclusively in secure transmission scenarios. The two readers make a strong point, however: Rosenberger now assumes this infowar stereotype offends the Muslim faith. He thanked the readers for helping him face his ignorance. He did not mean to offend and he sincerely regrets it.
